Half a million pounds of chicken recalled over metal shavings

Sanderson Farms is recalling more than a half million pounds of chicken products that may have been contaminated with metal, the U.S. Department of Agriculture announced Thursday.
Sanderson Farms (SAFM) first discovered the issue when it received a complaint from a processing facility that found metal shavings in the chicken. The contamination resulted from a malfunction with an ice-making machine during production.

So far, there have been no reports of injury from the chicken products. People who bought the items should not eat them and should either throw them away or return them to the store.
